Who we are
AMEC’s Analytical Services is one of the UK’s largest commercial radiochemical analysis laboratories, providing independent testing facilities for all aspects of radioactivity analysis. Our state of the art laboratories conduct radiochemical analysis for a wide range of clients, including nuclear operators, decommissioning contractors, contaminated land consultants, local authorities, regulators, water companies, and defence establishments.
Our radiochemistry facility consists of over 20 self-contained laboratories, each dedicated to the different facets of the sample analysis process. We typically analyse over 30,000 samples per year, with a total of around 150,000 tests.
The multi-skilled Amec’s Analytical Services team has more qualified radiochemists than any other commercial laboratory in the UK, giving us experience in depth. Our PhD radiochemists have project management experience and effectively co-ordinate and manage analysis programmes to meet your schedule, expectations and budget.
As a commercial organisation, we understand the importance of delivering results on time. Our electronic in-house Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) tracks all sample data from arrival through to reporting and archiving, and enables us to monitor our progress and deal with any queries effectively.
